Modern Juggling Manipulation Workshop (PA) July 5-6
Posted June 7, 2013
Traditional juggling usually means throwing and catching balls, clubs, and rings. But there is a more liberal definition of juggling, which Greg Kennedy will delve into during this two-day workshop. He will explain his methodology for creating new work, and participants will have a hands-on exploration of some of the props that Greg and others have developed, in their quest to modernize the art form. At the end of the first day, participants will move on to finding their own movement techniques with various objects. The second day will focus on those discoveries and where they can lead.
Currently featured in Cirque du Soleil's Totem, Greg Kennedy has spent over 20 years experimenting with juggling. He is a two-time International Juggling Champion, has been on the cover of Juggler’s World and JUGGLE magazines, and has performed on five different continents.
Prerequisites: ages 16 & up, able to juggle 3 balls comfortably, and have an interest in modern manipulation
