Female Juggler & Hula Hooper Wanted Feb 8
Posted January 16, 2020
Please know this opportunity is for those who desire and are excited to support and help raise money for the LGBTQ+ center in Manhattan. This center helps kids who have been kicked out of homes, or are lost trying to find their identity and community. The director, costume designer, and other performers are Broadway/off-Broadway performers who are getting the same stipend and are there to have fun and support.
If you have any interest please read description from the director below.
MASQ Ball is an annual masquerade ball benefiting The LGBT Center.
This year’s theme is 80s club kids like David Bowie, Grace Jones, Andy Warhol, etc.
We have a great costume designer for MASQ, and your makeup is done by L’Oreal glam team.
There is a five-minute set where you would be featured, and it can be totally improv, or I can help you choreograph/structure it if you wish. Then you would have two ten-minute sets of just mingling through the crowd, where you can juggle or just interact have fun and be fabulous. Also, there are mini stages at the venue where you’d have an eight-minute set of either juggling, dancing, or interacting. All in all, it will be between thirty to forty minutes maximum of work/performance through out the night.
The only other time commitment would be a costume fitting. It’s a pretty light and easy gig, and it's a fun way to get together with people in the industry and help raise money for The Center and their programs benefitting the LGBT community.
Saturday, February 8, 2020
The event begins at 9pm and you would be called no earlier than 3pm that day for rehearsal, dinner, hair/makeup, etc. You would be done by midnight.
Please email Center Director Jim Cooney, firstname.lastname@example.org
with photo/resume and any media.
The Center offers you the performer $100 and two VIP Garden Party tickets. (The Garden Party takes place during Pride in June, and it’s a food/drink festival on one of the midtown piers over the Hudson River.)
