Calling all Jugglers: Save Carmine!
Posted August 27, 2012
After 28 years of hosting Thursday night juggling, the Rec Center management has informed the juggling club that unless we get more jugglers, the gym will be forced to close the program. If you haven't been for a while, we're hoping you come back to juggling!
Gym staff was adamant that they don't want to see the program end. They're open to any ideas that would increase attendance, but they cannot continue to reserve Thursday nights for so few people, and they cannot alter the city's membership system and rates. Suggestions welcome!
Membership has been dropping since the city raised its rates, but it's always lowest in the summer, and we're hoping the fall sees the numbers pick up.
If you haven't been attending, please take a moment to comment on what might induce you to come: different location? Different time? If they let kids in? If your friends were there? It's hard to believe that there isn't enough interest in a city this size, and $75 is still not that much for a six-month membership that gets you into every gym in the city.
All information about joining and attending the club is on the Clubs
We hope to see you there.
